We want to hear from you! Become a Youth Volunteer Blogger!

Are you looking for an established platform to present your thoughts on social justice issues? CYH is looking for youth (ages 15-30) volunteer bloggers living in British Columbia who are willing to commit to creating two submissions. One submission will be on a topic that we pitch to you and the other submission will be on a topic that you pitch to us. If you want to submit content but are unable to commit to two submissions then feel free to send us a pitch.

We welcome creativity, so don’t feel constrained by a specific format: infographics, animations, and other interesting ways to engage with social justice issues are encouraged. Check out the blog to get an idea of past submissions and inspiration for future submissions.

Blog posts are great for Check Your Head because they provide content and drive traffic to the website, but they are also a great opportunity for youth volunteers. How so? Volunteer blogging allows you to
• engage with a wider audience of like-minded young change makers
• grow your writing portfolio and publish with a recognized non-profit organization
• receive help improving your writing

All submissions will go through an editing process that
• ensures they fit with CYH’s role as a nonpartisan organization
• helps you sharpen your writing and storytelling skills

Intake for volunteer bloggers will continue on an ongoing basis. Our goal is to publish one to two submissions per week.

If you are interested in contributing then don’t hesitate to contact our blog coordinator, Tina, at Tina[at]checkyourhead.org. Please include a bit about yourself and the topics that interest you. We look forward to hearing from you!

Check Your Head's work takes place on the stolen homelands of xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. We are committed to being in solidarity with Indigenous Sovereignties on their own terms.
