My pronouns are she/her/hers, I am a 21 year old born and raised in Ecuador. I came uninvited to these stolen lands of the sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) nations three years ago. I am currently majoring in Sociology and Anthropology at Simon Fraser University. I identify as a queer artist and I use my art to express and discover myself, although most of it I keep for myself. I also enjoy dancing, reading, birds and the sea. In the last few years that I have been residing and profiting from these lands I became even more aware and interested in social issues regarding women, im/migrants, Black, Indigenous, and POC, LGBTQ+, the environment and how it relates back to my home country and the global connection of these issues. I was raised with the acknowledgement of the environment and the earth which is something that still drives my being and doing. Coming here really shifted a lot in myself as I try to know and reconfigurate myself, my relationships, and the cultures I encounter with the knowledge I was taught back home as I try to relearn or unlearn it. I am a very happy person, although a little bit timid and nervous sometimes. I am also very excited to become involved with Check Your Head, and to be able to learn from everyone and their experiences and histories.
