Adrienne (she/her/hers) is a queer cis femme Chinese-Canadian settler who brings a diverse range of academic and lived experience to the Check Your Head team. In the Master of Public Health, Social Inequities & Health program at Simon Fraser University, she explored the tools for resilience that queer people of colour use to shape their own health outcomes. At the University of Winnipeg, she studied the ways that sexism, homophobia, transphobia and racism influence our understanding of the body and the teaching and practice of biomedicine. She has worked as a qualitative researcher, writer, transcriber, workshop facilitator and tutor. A perpetual dabbler and learner, she also has skills in entrepreneurship, sexual health and unplanned pregnancy counselling, photography, poetry, and social media marketing, and she strives to synergize all her interests for a colourful and generous life.
