Check Your Head is located at 2455 Fraser Street, on the stolen homelands of xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. We are committed to being in solidarity with Indigenous Sovereignties on their own terms. We are housed within the beautiful Broadway Youth Resource Centre at the corner of Broadway and Fraser Street.
The front door of our building is wheelchair accessible by an automatic door button, and the entire space on the main floor, including hallways, can easily accommodate the width of a wheelchair. Doors to meeting roms rooms A, B, and C do not have automatic open buttons but can be propped open. An elevator on the main floor leads to our offices on the second floor.
The fluorescent overhead lights are bright and cannot be dimmed; all three main floor rooms that we use for meetings and events share a long wall of windows which receive natural light.
Gender-neutral accessible washrooms are on the main floor.
We ask that when you are coming to visit us, that you refrain from using scented products so help create an accessible environment for people with allergies and scent sensitivities.
If you have any other accessibility queries, please email admin [at] checkyourhead.org and we will be happy to work with you to make sure you can participate in our programming.
