“The opportunity as a young person, to stand in front of strangers and facilitate discussions on real life issues such as globalization has given me confidence and encouragement to share my values and hope for change. These facilitation skills are life skills that can only be developed through practice.”

Check Your Head is fortunate to have an amazing team of youth and adult ally volunteers! Our talented and passionate volunteers research and write about social justice issues, facilitate workshops, organize education and outreach materials, help with fundraisers and community events and lead action projects in the community. We provide the training and support, you provide the passion and enthusiasm!

Youth Bloggers

We’re looking for youth bloggers who have an opinion and want to develop their writing skills! Get your voice out on our blog and contribute to a vibrant community of other young people like yourself. This is an opportunity to get feedback on your writing, as well as visibility. We promote our blog posts in our bimonthly newsletters, which reach approximately 300 teachers and 1000 community contacts, and share blog posts on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter platforms.

Check Your Head's work takes place on the stolen homelands of xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. We are committed to being in solidarity with Indigenous Sovereignties on their own terms.
