Join our team of youth facilitators!

Do you believe in education as a vehicle for change? So do we! If you are 16-30 years old and live in Metro Vancouver, unceded Coast Salish territories, we invite you to join our pool of youth facilitators! You will be delivering our interactive and engaging peer-led popular education workshops on key issues facing our society and planet such as migrant racism, economic justice, gender equity, food sovereignty, media awareness and more!

We provide:

  1. Unique experience delivering CYH workshops in school and community settings that educate, activate and empower youth to build a better world.
  2. Facilitation training on Saturday, November 19th, at the Broadway Youth Resource Centre (2455 Fraser Street, Vancouver) from 10 am – 4 pm. This training covers popular education techniques, anti-oppression in classroom settings, holding safe space, collaborating with co-facilitators, and more. This session is mandatory if you don’t have prior facilitation training covering similar topics.
  3. Ongoing support and mentorship. You will work within a team of like-minded peers, set learning objectives, apply feedback from workshop participants, and receive ongoing mentorship from experienced staff.
  4. Honorarium for each standard workshop facilitated ($50)
  5. Opportunity to build your social and professional network, while getting a valuable experience.
  6. Other change-making opportunities like writing blog posts, organizing events, supporting community actions, and others.
  7. Reference letters for the work you’ve done with us.
