Dakota has become interested in social justice work over the last two years. They are focused primarily on injustices within the healthcare system, as well as on queer and trans issues. After internalizing the ramifications of the academic industrial complex they have decided to leave their history degree hanging and take the grassroots approach to learning. They are passionate about expanding their knowledge of social justice issues, and want to help others learn about ways to create change in their communities.
Since spring 2017 Dakota has been involved with Check Your Head. They originally got involved as a member of the Poverty and Income Inequality cohort, and, as of fall 2017, they are excited to fill the position of Blog Coordinator.
